Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe Aug. 30 (UPI) -- A Russian driver's dashboard camera captured the moment a cat clinging to the bottom of a car on the highway bailed out and was nearly struck. The video, captured Aug. 21 on a highway in Irkutsk, shows a car pass by the filmer's vehicle with a white object visible in the muffler area. Advertisement "A car passed us that had something white hanging under it that looked similar to a package. It turned out to be a cat that had been sitting on the muffler of the vehicle," the filmer wrote. The video shows the cat either fall or jump from its perch and scramble across the road, nearly being struck by the filmer's car. The driver said the cat was lucky to avoid major injury. "It fell off the moving car onto the road. Miraculously it was not crushed. I found it later, hidden between a pillar and the concrete fence. We took it to the veterinarian and were informed that he was healthy with only a bruise," the filmer wrote. The scene evokes memories of a famous scene from 1991 thriller Cape Fear.
