Titans cut Michael Oher, right tackle of 'Blind Side' fame

NASHVILLE, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Right tackle Michael Oher, whose life story framed the Michael Lewis football theory book The Blind Side and was the central plot of the coming-of-age film of the same name, was cut by the Tennessee Titans on Thursday, just one year into his four-year contract.

Oher failed his most recent physical according to the Titans' official website.

Oher, a Memphis native, spent his first five years with Baltimore Ravens, helping the team to its 2013 Super Bowl victory of the San Francisco 49ers.

Despite being released, ESPN NFL reporter NFL Jeremy Fowler says he expects a number of teams to consider Oher for their rosters.
