Coast Guard Officer Arrested in Plot to Kill Prominent Democrats and Journalists

A cache of weapons, including 15 firearms and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition, were found in the Silver Spring, Maryland, home of Lt. Christopher Paul Hasson, 49, of the U.S. Coast Guard on February 15, 2019. Hasson is alleged to have been plotting the mass killing of liberal politicians and journalists, drawing inspiration from Norwegian domestic terrorist Anders Breivik who conducted two attacks in 2011 that killed 77 people in his native country.
