Martin Shkreli guilty of multiple criminal charges Friday
Former Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shkreli and Attorney Benjamin Brafman walk to the microphones to speak to the media at the United States Federal courthouse after Shkreli is found guilty of multiple criminal charges in his federal securities fraud trial on August 4, 2017 in New York City. Controversial pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli was arrested in December for alleged financial irregularities. Shkreli drew fire for boosting the price of the drug, which is used to treat infections that are typically found in those with compromised immune systems, by 4,000 percent. Of the eight counts, Shkreli was found guilty of three. Those included conspiracy to commit securities fraud, and two counts of securities fraud. He was found not guilty of five counts, including those related to wire fraud. Photo by John Angelillo/UPI
