LOS ANGELES, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- A California Senate candidate performed a popular dance move after becoming frustrated with time limits during a U.S. Senate debate.

Live stream footage of the debate from California State University, Los Angeles shows Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez "dabbing" during her only debate with Attorney General Kamala Harris, as the moderator attempted to inform her that her time to speak had ended.

The crowd laughed and Harris appeared shocked as Sanchez extended her arms into the pose popularized by the rap group Migos and Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

"So, there's a clear difference between the candidates in this race," Harris responded, according to the L.A. Times.

Following the debate Sanchez spokesman, Luis Vizcaino, tweeted that the move was part of why millennials support her campaign.

Nathan Click, a spokesmen for Harris, argued that Sanchez's performance left something to be desired.

"Her dab was as weak as the rest of her debate performance," he tweeted.
