WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Two months ago, Kayelyn Louder left her West Valley City, Utah, condo, barefoot and in the rain, and vanished.

On Tuesday, police identified the body fished out of the Jordan River the day before as Louder.

The body was discovered in about four feet of water by maintenance crews working on a drainage pipe some five miles from Louder's condo. Because the body was significantly decomposed, she was identified through dental records in an autopsy Tuesday afternoon.

"This is worst case scenario," said Allen Robins, a private investigator hired by the Louder family.

Louder, 30, made several bizarre 911 calls in the hours before she disappeared on Sept. 27, reporting a fight at a wedding and an intruder in her apartment. Police said they found no evidence of either crime.

She was then captured by surveillance video walking away from her condo. She was barefoot, without any personal belongings, and apparently talking to herself. After that, nothing for nine weeks.

"We don't know what happened. No one else saw her," Robins said. "No one has any other details as to what had happened from when she left that frame until yesterday."

Investigators still do not know how Louder ended up in the water, or the cause of death. Police said she had no known history of mental illness.

Robins noted a creek flowing to the Jordan River runs through Louder's condominium community. But because of how shallow it is, he said it is unlikely she could have gone into the water and been carried five miles to where her body was found, lodged against a concrete bridge support.

"We are broken hearted with the news of Kayelyn's body being found, but are also grateful to know where she is," said Amy Fugal, a cousin, on behalf of Louder's family. "This has been an extremely difficult nine-plus weeks for all involved. We hope that through all of our efforts that she has been able see how much she is loved and cared for."

"While finding her brings some closure we still have many unanswered questions and will not rest until we are able to fully understand what happened," she said. "We appreciate your continued prayers and support during this difficult time."
